I saw this book and after reading the first page, thought this is for me! My mother-in-law was in New York (Brooklyn) from California during the war. I loved hearing her recollections about being there and about her shoe box sized apartment. Your book makes me want to read more of your adventures! I understand about returning to Iowa and not going to Yale, but what an adventure that would have been! Congratulations on this book.. I’m sad that I didn’t pick it up when it first came out, BUT I feel fortunate to have read this and love it!
My personal summer magic happened in Miller Place on LI when my twin and I very young. Everyone needs a magical summer.
In “Tiffany,” the time, setting, and writing style gave me an instant trip down memory lane! My mother was at Barnard, but the feelings translated easily reminding me of my first apartment on the Upper West Side soon after college graduation. The excitement of NY in the 1970s was similar to Marty and Marjorie’s in 1945. Thank you- the lure of NYC never fades.

Summer at Tiffany is the most heart-warming and real story I have ever read. This is an absolute must for everyone’s 2012 reading list!
